England! (This is REALLY long!)

Day 1-So, there are 7 of us travelling: Me, Greg, Jen (Greg's sister), Greg's mom and dad and their friends, Mark and Sharon. This is my first time meeting Mark and Sharon and they seem nice. Our plan leaves Boston at 7:45pm, and we are on the coolest plane ever!! Each seat had a TV with tons of movies to choose from, I was overwhelmed and wanted the flight to be longer than it actually was so I could watch more movies. I ended up watching 17 Again, The Proposal, and an episode of Flight of the Concords. As we're about to land in London, the sun is rising and I see Big Ben from the plane!! I took a picture which I will hopefully put on facebook. We land in London at 7am, which is actually 2am American time. Don't worry, I'm way too excited to be tired. At 9am we finally get though customs and meet up with Johnny to bring us to his house until we can check into our hotel at 2pm. Johnny drives me, Greg and Jen, while the others go in a van that Johnny hired for them. There was tons of traffic on the way to Johnny's house, but I got to see some of the English countryside and lots of sheep-all very exciting! We get to Johnny's house (which is a teeny tiny little thing) and his mom greets us with tons of sandwiches and fruit and cookies. She is awesome! This is the first time I try "Apple Tango," which is a green apple soda. I love it. This is the moment when Sharon begins to drive me insane. First of all, she has a really nasally voice and she's a smoker. Secondly, she keeps arguing with things that Greg's mom is saying. Thirdly, nothing is as awesome as Italy. She's been 3 times and LOVES IT, and this makes her way more cultured than us. However, she's never left the city of Rome. Now I'm starting to get tired and cranky and I just want to sleep. Finally, it's time to check in! Because British people all drive teeny tiny hatchback cars that barely fit 4 people, Johnny has to have his friend come and help cart us all to the hotel. During the ride over, Sharon asks "why didn't Johnny's parents put us up?" Bitch. We get to the hotel. It's the Royal Comfort Inn in Kettering. It's pretty nice, it has a bed and that's all I care about at the moment. So, Johnny leaves us saying that he'll be picking us all up again at 7, for dinner. So, Greg and I immediately go to sleep and wake up around 5:30. We decide to walk around the town until Johnny comes to get us. Unfortunately, everything closes at 5:30!!! (Well, everything except for pubs). This is really annoying. I mean, I guess it's kind of cool for the people of England, because you know you're getting off work at 5:30, no matter what, but geeze! At 7, Johnny and his parents arrive to bring us to dinner. We go to some pub called "the Park House" and I got some type of barbecue chicken. However, they're barbecue sauce is a little different from ours; it wasn't gross, it was just weird. Greg got "bangers and mash" (sausage and mashed potatoes) and gave me a bite of the sausage. It was the MOST DELICIOUS SAUSAGE I'VE EVER HAD and I'm not a fan of sausage. At dinner, we get to know Johnny's mom and step dad, Sue and Sammy. Sammy reminds Greg and I of Austin Powers-messed up teeth, same voice and has the same inflection of his words...? Sue is the nicest woman I've ever met. She's so happy and British and funny. Instead of saying "what's up? or how's is going," British people say "are you alright?" It really throws you off at first. But whenever Sue sees Jen, she always says "Jenny! Are you alright?!" I'll have to do an impression for you because it's cute. So, dinner was fun and we all go back and go to sleep. Good news! Our hotel room is right over a bar! So we get to listen to Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" all night! (actually, this first day I didn't care because I was so exhausted!

Day 2-Greg and I wake up at 11:30!! Today is a relaxation day, so we just walk around the town of Kettering. This is the day we discover "Greggs." It's what I like to call British Panera. They have the most delicious pastries and sandwiches. I think this is the day I got my first doughnut from them. It's seriously looks like a sub roll filled with whipped cream and covered in sugar. It was the most delicious thing I've ever had! I also had a sausage roll, which is a flaky pastry with sausage in it. So good! We also decide to try to find postcards. After going to a million stores in the mall and throughout town, I finally decide to ask someone. She has no idea what I'm talking about, but tells me to go to some store around the corner. We get there and it's like some sort of kitchen store. I ask the woman there if they sell postcards and she laughs in my face. But then she tells me to go to some convenience store across the street. Surprisingly, they actually have postcards!! So, we get some and go directly to the post office to fill them out and mail them! I took a picture of Greg dropping them in the mailbox because their mailboxes are pretty cool looking. Then we go to the grocery store and spend about half an hour in the chip aisle, or "crisps" as they call them. They have chips that look like Lays, but they're called "Walkers." They have a million different flavors of chips, like prawn (shrimp), turkey and stuffing, roast chicken, breakfast (eggs and bacon), and Worcestershire sauce. Their Cheetos are called "wotsits?!" (I like to say that with a British accent). Aside from chips, we discover than British people have it made! They basically have dinners prepared for them (like fresh veggies, mashed potatoes, meat), they just have to bring it home and cook it for like 30 minutes. I know you're thinking "hey, we have that, too." No, my friends. These are serious, non-processed, healthy meals. They also have a lot of sandwiches, which Greg and I ended up living off of. So, after spending about 10 pounds on candy, we go and meet Jen, Johnny and his parents for dinner. We didn't invite Mark and Sharon because they weren't in their room and we didn't feel like looking for them/waiting for them. We went to an Italian restaurant across the street from the hotel. Literally, 5 minutes after we sit down, Mark and Sharon walk in and look a little pissed off that we didn't invite them. I ordered chicken parm and it was really bland. Greg ordered lemonade and they gave him Sprite. Apparently that's what they call lemonade. OMG! For dessert, I got a banana split. It was too good to describe!! The bananas were like cooked on the grill and caramelized and topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The bananas were warm and awesome. Oh man, that was so good and I almost forgot about it.

Day 3-This is the day of the blessing. This is a British tradition that takes place post-wedding, but pretty much it's just like a wedding, so I don't know why they bother with two. For the first half of the day we just walk around the town again and hit up some Greggs. I introduced Greg's dad to the doughnut at Greggs and I'm pretty sure he owes me big time. He loved those things as much as I did. We went to the Kettering museum, and it was not very exciting, but it passed the time. Eventually, it's time to go to the blessing and Johnny has 3 of his friends come to drive us over to the church. The church is in Grafton Village, which is so cute! The houses all have thatched roofs (thatched meaning they have hay on their roof rather than shingles. I didn't know what it meant). The church was teeny tiny and really old. It was made out of stone and looked really neat. The Vicker (the pastor guy who did the blessing) has known Johnny his whole life. Johnny warned us that the vicker was a little bit crazy and a serious talker, so avoid him at all costs. He introduced "Team America" and said we were all from the national park that Greg works at in New Hampshire. He kept making comments about Bear Brook and Greg was like "uh oh, he's done his research and he's going to end up talking to me all night." Greg is seriously stressing that he's going to get stuck talking to this guy and I just laugh and laugh because I know it's true. So anyway, during the ceremony the vicker keeps making crazy comments like "if anyone's wearing Reeboks, Jen can inspect them for you. She looks a little bored up here." The blessing ends and we have to get pictures taken outside. They photographer is one of Johnny's friends, Phil. His assistant is Phil's 5 year old son, Louie, who is totally awesome! Phil would line everyone up to take a picture and Louie would be standing right in front of his dad shouting out the same orders his dad just said and taking pictures with his own camera. Then we head over to the reception, which is at the hotel we're staying in. I'm freakin' starving and it takes them forever to get the buffet ready. I finally get to go get food and they have all kinds of crap that I don't recognize. I grabbed a bunch of sausage, some fried balls, and lots of veggies. The sausage was awesome, so were the veggies, but the fried balls ended up being fried mushrooms and they were totally nasty. Jen ate them for me. Johnny's band played at the reception. They were pretty good, but they were no Bloc Party. Johnny gave me a free CD, to spread the word in America. Let me know if you want a copy. So, we're hanging out, waiting for the cake to be served and we see the vicker walk in. He's lingering around our table, but thankfully there's no seats and Greg and I looks like we're having a serious conversation. I look at the vicker standing behind Greg and I see that he's holding a map of Bear Brook!! He's just waiting for the second he can talk to Greg and Greg is freaking out! Finally, we get some cake cake and it looks really delicious-chocolate cake with white frosting. I take a huge bite and realize it's RAISINS!!!! The frosting is that fondit stuff, so that's really gross, too!! It was the nastiest cake I've ever had. Jen says "it's Johnny's favorite. Notice how I'm not eating my own wedding cake..." Jerk.

Day 4- This is another day to hang out in Kettering. Frankly, Greg and I have walked the entire town and we're a little bored with it. Around 3, Johnny's family comes to pick us up to take us to dinner. We go to a restaurant that has a carvery. This is when I first learn the awesomeness that is Yorkshire pudding. I asked Johnny's sister Amy (who's totally cool and has a really hot boyfriend) what it was and she said it's the best thing I'll ever eat. This was not exactly a lie. Yorkshire pudding is basically a biscuit that kind of looks like a cup. You're supposed to fill it with gravy and stuffing. MMMMM. At dinner, Sharon is complaining about how her hotel room (a smoking room) smells like stale cigarettes. She's such a bitch. I talked to Amy a lot about her trip to America. It was her first time here and her goal for the trip was to get a Macy's bag, buy Hershey bars, and buy Uggs. (1 pound=$1.55, so the Uggs would be a lot cheaper here). She really did not like the Hershey bars, but she brought some to her class (she teaches kindergarten) and they loved them. It's funny because Amy's degree is in Geology because she's obsessed with dinosaurs. I was like "and now you're teaching kindergarten...?'" and she was like "Well, we have a week of studying dinosaurs, so it's cool." She's funny. After dinner, Johnny's parents take us all to this cafe called the airport, or something... It's really neat because it's a cafe located at a tiny private airport and you can watch all kinds of crazy planes take off and land. They bought us all a hot cocoa, which was a little watery. Don't worry, Sharon let everyone know how the cocoa was not a good as the cocoa in Italy. She's a bitch because Sue and Sammy bought it for us. She should be thankful she was even invited to dinner this time! Shit!

Day 5- Today we check out of our hotel in Kettering and check into the Premier Inn in Wellingborough, the town where Johnny lives. This hotel is a lot nicer and a lot quieter, but they don't have phones in the rooms, nor do they have free internet! It was like 5 pounds/hour, which is like $8/hour. Yeah right! Also, this is the first time we go to London. Johnny is going to be our tour guide. We take the train into London and on the train he's giving us all the rundown. Telling us how there's lots of pickpockets in London, be quick getting on and off the tube, don't get lost...he's so funny because he's just trying to make everyone happy. So, the first thing we do is take the underground train (the tube) to Covent Gardens, which is like a flea market/Times Square kind of place. So far, I'm not a huge fan of London because it seems really stressful and there's so many people!! Next, we start walking around and all of the sudden, I see Big Ben!!! The sight of it literally takes my breath away! It's so much cooler in real life. It top part is all gold and shiny, and it's so huge. And I got to hear it chime! Awesome! Johnny takes us to this really neat restaurant on the River Thames (pronounced Tems). It's literally a boat sitting on the river, right across from the London Eye (the giant ferris wheel in London). I actually forget what I got to eat. Some kind of sandwich, I think. It was a neat restaurant, but Sharon complained about how she's getting sea sick. Bitch. When we're done eating, Johnny suggests we go on the Eye. Sharon says she's too sea sick to even think about going on it. I get really depressed because I feel like this is my one chance to go on the Eye and she's ruining it for me. Next, we go to Buckingham Palace which wasn't too exciting. They have those guards with the tall, black, fuzzy hats, that are really serious and don't move. The queen was at the Palace, so it was all gated off and we couldn't get close to the guards to try to make them laugh. Then we went to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Tower Bridge was another thing that took be breath away. It's so big and beautiful and bright blue! The Tower of London was pretty neat, but it was closed by the time we got there. This is a castle where Henry VIII lived and the Beefeaters are the guards there. I was a little sad that everything was closed up because I wanted to see a Beefeater. This was the end of our London trip, and I decided that I officially love London.

Day 6-Today Johnny had to go to work decided to send us to Nottingham castle because it's an easy train ride and the castle is right by the train station. Greg's dad has gout and his foot was hurting so he didn't go. This made me sad because he's pretty funny and likes to bitch about Sharon. When we arrive at the castle, it has all kinds of Robin Hood stuff outside and I realize THIS IS WHERE ROBIN HOOD IS FROM!!! My dad and I used to watch Robin Hood all the time, so I was really excited to be there. Finding the entrance to the castle was a little bit difficult. We walked all the way around the thing before we found the door. One of the doors we passed was a tiny, wooden, green door that had two signs on it: one said "Nottingham Castle" the other said "DANGER OF DEATH! HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICITY!" Greg's mom looks at the door and is like "Oh, I think this is the entrance!" and then she starts reaching for it to go in! I yell "THAT SAYS DANGER OF DEATH!!" She's like "Oh, I just saw the Nottingham Castle sign..." It was pretty funny. When we finally got in the castle, it was pretty lame. I was expecting to be in a real castle with fancy rooms, but this was a museum with a bunch of art. Boring. But then I saw a sign that advertised cave tours, so we decided to hook that up. This tour was really awesome. The castle had tons of caves dug underneath it for dungeons and secret passages and stuff. The tour guide was interesting and told us all kinds of cool stories about the caves. We also learned that Robin Hood may not be real, and the castle was set on fire in the 1800's, and that's why it's now a museum; the rest of it was destroyed. Overall, it was a pretty neat day.

Day 7-Greg's parents and Mark and Sharon left to go to Ireland for a few days, so Greg and I got to hang out with only Jen and Johnny (when he got off work). This is when the fun starts. Jen, Greg, and I went decided to go back to London to do somethings we wanted to do the other day, but couldn't: 1. Tower of London tour, 2. London Eye 3. The London Bridge Experience (Katie would love this) 4. Abbey Road and 5. The Jack the Ripper Tour (Greg's entire motivation for coming to London). We did the Tower of London tour first. This was really cool because the Beefeaters give the tours and I learned a lot. At the Tower of London, we got to see the crown jewels!! This included a 530 karat diamond! Holy MOLEY was that thing HUGE! The crown jewels were all really beautiful and amazing. Next we went to the London Bridge Experience. This is an hour long thing with 40 minutes of history on the London Bridge and then 20 minutes of a "self guided tour of the London Bridge tombs!!" Going through the tomb was basically like going though a haunted house-people jumping out at you, severed heads hanging, people dying of the plague, you know. It was actually a little bit lame, but I was sacred. When we finished this, it was about 5pm. The Jack the Ripper Tour started at 6:45pm, so we started walking in that direction to figure out where it was and to get something to eat. Online it said to get information for the tour at the Tower Hill underground station. When we get to the station, there's a tiny little man holding a handwritten poster that says "Jack the Ripper Tour." I went up to talk to him and he was little strange and was going on and on about Jack the Ripper and trying to explain the tour to us. As we were walking away from him, Jen bursts out laughing because she thinks that guy was crazy and is totally not worth our time. I agree, but I'm afraid to say so because I know this was Greg's dream for the trip. Finally, we all decide against going on the tour, but Greg seems pissy because his dream turned out to be lame. We think we're relatively close to the London Eye, so we start walking that way. Seriously, like 3 miles later we can see the Eye, but it still seems pretty far away. Greg, still a little pissy, convinces us to keep walking and not take the tube. We make it to the Eye and we go up right as the sun's setting. The Eye was so cool! You're basically in a glass ball on the ferris wheel and you can see tons of stuff. I think I took about 20 pictures of Big Ben. When we're done with the Eye, we're all cranky and staring, so we eat some sandwiches and then head home.

Day 8-Cadbury World!! Cadbury is the main brand of chocolate in England and it's so delicious! The Cadbury here is made by Hershey's, so it's not as good. So, Greg, Jen and I decided to go to Cadbury World which is pretty much the Cadbury factory. The first thing we did there was this thing called "Essence." You get to "invent your own chocolate treat." Basically, they have like 15 different things to choose from like marshmallows, gummy bears, rice krispies, coconut, etc. and they put it in a cup and pour this warm liquidy chocolate on it. Oh my God! It was so warm and delicious. I went for marshmallows (in honor of Rachel) and that basically made my trip to Cadbury World complete. Then we went on the factory tour, which was kind of lame because you just went to different rooms and watched videos of where chocolate comes from and how it's made. We did get to see chocolate getting made, and candy bars getting wrapped up while on the conveyor belt, but everything else was videos. There was a ride within the factory called "Cadabra." We decided to go to it and when we got there there was no line and the girl running the ride made us get on, despite the fact that it's basically a ride for toddlers-a tiny car that goes around a track and goes through "Beanville" where these little cocoa beans (that look like California Raisins) live. It was really embarrassing, but they took our picture while we were on it and Jen and I bought magnets. Hilarious. Finally, we went to the Cadbury store and Greg and I bought 25 pounds worth of candy. Yeah, that's basically $40. I hope to bring some with me to VA, so I'm trying to practice self control. After Cadbury World, we went back to Johnny's house where he prepared a Lamb Roast for us. The silly American that I am thought he slaved away in the kitchen all day, but it took only 30 minutes to cook, thanks to the prepared British foods. Everything was really delicious and it was a nice way to say goodbye to Jen, Johnny and his family.

Day 9-This is the day we leave England. What a sad day. Nothing too exciting happened. I watched My Sister's Keeper, The Hangover and Transformers 2 on the plane ride. Also, some guy got caught smoking in the bathroom on the plane, and a state trooper came on the plane when we ladned and arrested him!!

Phew!! That's the England trip, in a nutshell. Basically, I ate a lot of sausage and a lot of chocolate. I'm sure I'll have tons more to say about it when I get to VA!

You take your car to work, I'll take my bike.

This is a picture of my beautiful new bike!!!!! Please note the white seat. This is my favorite part.

Once Greg told me he was going to get me a bike, I called David and had him research the bikes for sale and pick out the best one for me. I told him Greg was giving me $500, and I'd be willing to spend A LITTLE BIT. So, he picks this bike out and it's $750. I was a little sad about that, but of course as soon as I saw it in person I fell in love with it. I've been stressed (my car failed inspection and apparently it's going to be $750 to fix, and we're booking hotels and dog boarding for our England trip and I have no money EVER!) and depressed lately and I wanted to get the bike so I could stop thinking that Greg didn't get me anything for my birthday! I gave in a decided I would put $250 toward a new bike. I justified it by saying if I only spend the $500 that Greg gives me, I will get a bike no better than the one I have; I need an upgrade! Last night we went to the bike shop and I got to test ride the bike and it was orgasmic. I brought my old bike to trade in (before I went there I decided that the absolute lowest price I would accept for it was $75, if they'd even take it!). The guy at the shop is looking at my bike and he asks how much I paid for it and then he said "what do you want for it?" Just as I was about to say $100, he was like "I'll give you $200 for it." !!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe what it!! I went there thinking I was going to spend $250 on my new bike, but I only had to spend $50!!! I was so happy I almost cried.

Of course I rode it to work this morning and plan on riding nonstop until it starts snowing.

Cooked like a wild woman

This weekend was my "Cook Like A Wild Woman" weekend with Tara. It was a lot better than I had anticipated.

The drive there took about 3 hours. She's a talker, so she was able to keep the conversation going and we ended up having a pretty good heart to heart about life and relationships. She spoke a lot about her boyfriend and made it seem like they've discussed marriage and she's basically waiting on the proposal. So, I don't feel as threatened...for now. She actually asked if I did anything exciting for my birthday so that kind of opened a can of worms.
(For those who don't know, Greg didn't really do anything for my birthday. My dad was here and he kind of used that as an excuse. Rather than tell me ahead of time that we were going to celebrate my birthday another day, he just didn't do anything. So, that evening I was left thinking that he didn't get me a present, a card, didn't make me a cake or dinner. Nothing. I was really hurt. I talked about it with him and the next day he made me a cake and on Sunday he gave me a card, but I still haven't gotten a present yet. Apparently he had the plan to put $500 toward a new bike for me. Not that I don't believe him, it's just a slow-moving plan and I'm still really hurt by what happened. The fact that people are STILL asking me what I did for my birthday, or what Greg got for me doesn't help! I mean how does "he didn't do anything for me and hasn't gotten me a present yet" sound good in any way?!!)
I discussed that with Tara and she was a good listener. She was married a few years ago and she was telling me about that relationship and unfortunately a lot of her issues with her marriage seem to be issues I'm having with Greg now. The other day Greg and I had a talk about our relationship and I told him some things I'm unhappy with like how I feel taken for granted. So, we're kind of at an awkward stage in the relationship and we're trying to see if it will get better or worse.

ANYWAY!! I didn't not start typing this to talk about my relationship problems!! I wanted to tell you about my weekend!

Going in to the weekend, I thought we were going to be foraging for food and learning how to cook over a campfire. However, really wasn't anything like that. We did some foraging for edible plants, which turned out to be really good. But for the most part the weekend should have been called "Eat Like A Wild Woman," because all we did was eat. I did get the opportunity to eat a lot of things normal would not, so that was kind of neat. This is the list of what I ate:

Saturday:
Lunch-
Venison steak and cheese sub
Caribou stew
Black crappie nuggets-fish nuggets. Really nasty, don't know why I tried.

Appetizers-
Bear Sausage
Venison salami-really good!!
Goose Pate-tastes like tuna (so nasty!!)
Bear tips-really rough, like chewing gum
Bear meatballs
Hard cider

Dinner-
Moose pot roast
Steams greens (dandelion leaves)-GROSS!
Wild rice

Dessert-
Museum pudding-made with blueberries we picked! Really good!
Berry crumble-made with berries we picked. Kind of tart

Sunday:
Brunch-
Salad-made with greens we picked
Blueberry vinegrette-good!
Moose sloppy joes-really good!
Elderberry flower fritters-flowers fried in batter. Really good!
Terriyaki beaver-pretty nasty
Wild mushroom soup-I don't like mushrooms, but this was really good.
Blueberry liquor
Blackberry liquor

That's all I can remember for now, but I'm pretty sure that's everything. They also served woodchuck and quail, but by that time the thought of eating more, especially meat really grossed me out. And, I saw the quail when they were alive, so I wasn't okay with that. I also got to gut a trout, but I didn't eat it. I was actually pretty good at it, so I might have to fish for trout so I can cook them up! Overall, I think moose was my favorite. This was mainly due to the fact that it tasted like beef and wasn't chewy like the bear. So, it was a fun weekend. I was surprised to learn how many plants are edible. I do have pictures, but my computer is lame and I don't dare hook anything of mine to Greg's PC.

In other news, my computer is still being stupid. Apple said I need my start-up disk to fix the problem, but of course I can't find it. I called them yesterday and they're going to mail me on within two weeks for $32. If this doesn't fix the problem I'm just going to throw it out the window and call it a day.

I think that's all I have to say. I would appreciate if you guys updated your blogs for once in your lives, but that's neither here nor there.

Kernel Panic

Well, something horrible has happened to my computer and I'm forced to use Greg's lame-ass PC. Two days ago, I was on facebook, minding my own business. Then, out of nowhere, the screen got dark and this message pops up saying "You need to restart your computer!!" So, I turned it off and now, IF it turns back on, the same message pops up so I can't do anything! I looked it up and the message is called "Kernel Panic." From what I've read, it doesn't seem like my computer is dead forever, I just have to figure out how to get the message to go away. I think I might have to take a trip to the Apple store. Bummer.

Today I have an interview at "York's Wild Animal Kingdom." I've never been there, but I hear it's a zoo of sorts in York, Maine. Should they offer me a position, I don't think I will take it because it will only be until October 1, they pay $8.00/hour and I think it's about 1.5 hours away. The only reason I'm going on the interview is to 1. make sure I'm not missing out on my dream job, and 2. hopefully they will bring me on a tour to see some cute animals.

Yesterday I had a phone interview with a company called Mascoma, located in Lebanon, NH. First of all, let me just say that I have applied to about 50 million positions through Monster.com, and a lot of them have been located in Lebanon, NH. I've gotten a few emails from these jobs, asking me to look at their website and fill out their online applications, which I do. So anyway, a girl called me from Mascoma and asked if I had seen her website, and if I had a good understanding of what the company was about. I was pretty positive I had, so I went on about how they do a lot of protein research and cultivate yeast, blah blah blah. The girl was like "Um...kind of. We are a company that makes biofuel." So, I was pretty much completely wrong and felt like a total loser. This sucks because I would LOVE to work for a company that makes biofuel!! I think that would be so neat! But anyway, she said they won't be setting up interviews for another two weeks, so now I get to think about how I made a fool out of myself and will lose my dream job because of it. Interviews are pretty much the worst things ever.

That is where my life is at right now. My dad and Luke are coming up on the 15th and will be here for a week, I think. That should be some good times. I wish you fools would update your blogs for once in my life. I feel like I don't even know you anymore!! Good day!

Look what I can do with my feet

I'll start off by saying that I'm pretty obsessed with that wedding video.  And Katie, in response to your comment: pretty much the same thing happened to me!!  I dreamed about the video and I've been listening to that song on repeat ever since!  I LOVE IT!

Last night, I saw Food, Inc.  As predicted, it ruined my life.  Thankfully, it ruined Greg's as well, so he's all for buying organic shit these days.  I'm pretty excited about that.  I assumed that he would judge me for wanting to go organic after seeing the movie.

As of right now, I'm in serious job search mode.  I REALLY don't want to go back to working for the school.  The only reason I would is for the insurance, but is my happiness worth it?  I'll be able to work full time at the park until October 13, and then I don't know what will happen.  I've applied to a ton of jobs via monster.com, but I have no experience and I'm feeling pessimistic.  I'm also thinking of going back to school.  For what?  Good question.  Honestly, if I could go back to school for anything, it would be for veterinary medicine!

Aaaah!  Speaking of vets, Molly has an appointment in a few minutes!  I HAVE TO GO!  Hopefully I can finish what I'm saying later!

Videos!

This is Molly showing her skills while eating dinner.  Normally she's a little more vocal than this, but still super cute.

Peanut and Molly playing in the yard.  Molly steals Peanut's ball and then Peanut tackles her.  It happens every time.

I want some Crest White Strips.

First of all, my phone is not working.  It worked the whole time I was in VA, and it worked when I got off the plane in NH, but then Sunday evening I had no service.  Monday morning, my phone turned off twice by itself, and I still had no service.  At this point, I start freaking out.  When I get home from work, I call AT&T and they tell me there's no outages.  So, I call Apple and I'm literally on the phone with them and AT&T for an hour and fifteen minutes.  I took my SIM card out a millions time, reset the thing, did all kinds of fancy stuff, and still nothing.  A girl from AT&T told me to go to the store and get a new SIM card because maybe it's the card.  So, I did that today and when I'm at the store, I have every bar ever and 3G service!!  They changed my SIM card and told me to "hope for the best."  Now that I'm at home, I still don't have service.  I have no idea what the deal is and I feel lost without my phone working.  Hopefully there is an outage, or something like that and my phone starts working soon.

My trip to VA was short and sweet.  I met my dad's girlfriend and I really like her.  She's pretty outgoing and down to earth, and not annoying like past girlfriends.  My dad's graduation was pretty boring, but my Aunt Kelly had a surprise party for him afterward and he was pretty surprised.  I got to hang out with my mom for a little bit and I got my haircut.  It's nothing too serious; I had awkward layers and I'm slowly working my way toward having a single-layered bob.  When the hairdresser styled my hair, it looked AWESOME.  Unfortunately, I'm totally uncoordinated when it comes to using a brush and a hair dryer at the same time, so my hair hasn't looked awesome since.

I got to hang out with my brothers for a little bit.  Unfortunately, I think Seth is back to his old habits.  You can totally tell when he's not clean because he's angry and irrational and ridiculous at times.  Apparently he's moving down to Richmond where his friend has a "guaranteed job as a cook" lined up for Seth.  I guess my dad gave Seth the deadline of August 1st, to get a job or go to school, or he has to move out.

Also, the most exciting part of my trip was meeting up with one of my BFFs from high school, Carnita.  I have known her since 5th grade and we were really good friends, but lost touch during college.  She was never one for technology, like no AIM or facebook, so it was impossible to keep in touch with her.  I have been thinking about her a lot recently, and last week she joined facebook!!  She saw that I was going to be in VA and she stalked me and met up with me for an hour and then drove me to my haircut appointment.  Catching up with her was like medicine for my soul.  She has a 3 year old son who wears tiny gangsta hats and holds doors for people.  Oh!  Carnita is working as a paraprofessional just like me!  What are the odds?!!

David took me for a ride on the motorcycle!!  It was  little bit terrifying at first, but it was also really neat.  While on a motorcycle, you see things that you would never see if you were in a car.  Also, you get to smell all the flowers and freshly cut grass.  It's pretty neat.

I think that's all I have to say.  Tomorrow is my interview at EMS.  Hopefully they'll hire me on the spot.  Does anybody have plans for the 4th of July?  I'm pretty sure it's going to rain here, for the 40th day in a row!!  And that is no exaggeration!  It has rained so effin' much!  I'm so depressed!!

Pictures!

Molly and her crazy ears.

Me, Greg, Tara and Russ riding on an escalator.

Upper Crust. Look at how delicious it looks!

This is one of the Ducks in the water.

Us waiting for the tour to start.

This is the Duck we were on.  How beautiful!

Me posing with a Duck.

A cool picture of Jellyfish.

I have a runny nose.

Well, I'm stuck working in the campground.  I'm breaking all of my rules by being on the internet right now, but whatev.  There's about 4 people in the campground and it's rainy and stupid and slow and boring.  A girl Sarah is supposed to be working 12-8, and she hasn't shown up yet (it's 4:30) and isn't answering her phone.  Apparently she worked here a few years ago and had to quit becuase she was going to school, but now she's back!  I told Greg I thought it was a bad idea to hire her back, because she has like 3 other jobs and can only work Wednesdays and Sunday, and we already have coverage those day; we really don't need her.  Her first day, she was 45 minutes late, her second day she had to leave 3 hours early, and now this.  Apparently she was awesome when she worked here before, but I say she sucks.  And, she totally reminds me of Carol.  She has the same build (i.e. round face, hips, everything), and kind of the same personality (i.e. weird jokes, always sick).

Good news!  I only have two more days of school left!!!  Tomorrow I'll get out at 12 and on Tuesday I get out at 10 and then I'm done!!  I totally skipped school on Thursday and Friday.  Thursday I did a lot of nothing and it was great.  On Friday, Greg and I went to Boston with our "friends" Tara and Russ.  We went to the aquarium and we went on the Duck Tours.  I don't know if you're familiar with those, but you get a tour of the city in a crazy vehicle that is both a car and a boat.  It's pretty sweet.  The aquarium was okay.  Not as cool as Balitmore, but that could be due to the fact that there were about 50 field trips there and I could hardly breathe!  For dinner, we went to this pizza place called Upper Crust.  Nathan and I ate there pretty much every night during our trip to Boston, so I convinced everyone that Upper Crust was where we needed to go.  Seriously, it is the most delicious pizza I've ever had.  If we go to Boston when you're here, I suggest we go there.  The trip to Boston was fun, for the most part.  But I don't know if it's because I secretly hate Tara, or if we're too different, but I just never really have anything to talk about with her and she's not really funny (which is a MUST, if you want to be friends with Kendra Cox).  I feel like her and Russ don't have anything to talk about with Greg, either, because all they freaking talk about is park stuff.  It's really fuckin' annoying.  I mean, I work at the park, I can relate to what they're talking about, but all day?  Seriously?  So, for the most part, I just sit silently and think about what I can eat for dinner.  And Russ is apparently God's gift to fixing things, so that's pretty much all he talks about, when he's not talking about the park.  When we were on the Duck Tour, we went under some bridge and he would not stop talking about the amount of steel used to make the bridge.  He was way too excited about it, like to the point of needing some alone time.

Also on Friday was my Relay for Life with my softball team.  I was planning on going right at the start of it and staying for a few hours.  Unfortunately, Tara is the one who drove to Boston, so when her and Russ wanted to keep looking at shit, I couldn't really say no.  We ended up getting home at 9:30 and the Relay was about an hour from my house.  Yeah, that wasn't happening, and frankly, I didn't really feel like going anyway.  So, I called the captain of our team and explained the situation and was like "Well, I'm going to try to get there at 6am, because I have to work at 8."  She was like "you have to work??!!  Don't come here!  We understand!  Don't feel bad!!"  I was pretty happy she said that to me, so I didn't argue with her.

My Saturday and Sunday has been pretty uneventful.  It's seriously rained almost everyday in June and the temperature hasn't gotten about 70 and I'm totally depressed about this.  It's almost 4th of July and I'm still wearing hoodies!!  I wish it would just be summer already!!  Oh!!  Something really exciting-I have an interview at this store called EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports).  This is pretty much my dream job.  This is seriously the coolest store ever and I plan on retiring from this place.  As of right now, I'll only be working like one or two days a week (if they're willing to do that) because really I just want the discount.  However, the manager wants to interview me on Friday, and I totally forgot that I'm going to be in VA on Friday (I'm going there for 2 days to watch my dad graduate from college and party like it's 1999).  So, I called the manager to see if I could reschedule it and she's never freakin' there!  I hope this doesn't hurt my chances of getting my dream job!

Should I buy tickets for Harry Potter?  I'm totally serious about going to see it at midnight, so before I go buying tickets, I want to make sure you are, too.

Okay, Sarah (the girl who's supposed to be working) just called and "totally forgot that she's supposed to work today!!"  I was like "Well, by the time you get here, you'll only work for 2 hours and that's pointless.  Don't worry about it."

Well, I think that's all I have to say.  I will post pictures later.  Good day!

It's a small world

Yesterday, Greg and I walked through the SCA camp, by the cabins I lived in.  While walking, we saw a few of the SCA kids outside, chopping wood and I recognized one of them!!  It was a kid named Thomas Hodge (he goes by Hodge) that was in a bunch of my classes at CNU!!!!!!!  It was so weird seeing him.  It was like a little taste of home.  But he seems to be enjoying his time with the SCA, so that's cool.  We weren't really friends, but we were in a bunch of classes together and we talked in class.

I just thought it was so crazy that someone I know is up here.  I wanted to share.

I have two softball games this week.  Bleh.  I wonder what kind of drama we'll encounter this week...

I'm only happy when it rains!

Greg and I have been trying to take the girls on a walk every night.  It helps Molly sleep through the night and we can appreciate that.

This is a picture of my beautiful tomatoes that are starting to grow in my garden!

Greg put my hammock up yesterday!  Look at how comfy and bug-free I look!!

Jen (Greg's sister) is here this weekend.  We told her to come up because it was supposed to be rainy and we wouldn't have to work too much this weekend.  Now they are saying that it's going to be sunny and awesome and Greg "just remembered" that on of the kids on staff has a wedding to go to, so I have to work 8am-10pm.  I'm so pissed!  I asked him like 6 times this week if this was the weekend she was going to be gone and he swore to me it was next weekend!!  Damnit!

This week I had three softball games.  The first game was on Tuesday and I was tired and cranky and decided not to go.  That night, I see my teammates' statuses saying that they won!  I was so pissed that I missed a game that we won!  The next day I found the other team had to forfeit the game.  The second game this week, I got hit with the ball in my arm.  I'm actually a little disappointed that my bruise doesn't look too bad.  It hurt (and still hurts) like a bitch, but I don't really have anything to show for it.  I was actually kind of excited to post a grotesque picture of my bruise, but it's barely noticeable.  The third game this week was filled with drama!!  The girl Kristen, that I work with and got me started on the team, is a little bit crazy.  She has an 18 month old who she brings to all the games and practices.  She keeps him locked in his stroller and he screams the whole time.  A lot of the time, she'll be playing in the outfield and she'll yell "Brodie, SHUT UP!!"  or she'll get in his face and say things like "Brodie!  I don't care!!  STOP CRYING!!"  It's really kind of awkward, but who am I to say anything?  I don't want to get suckered in to babysitting.  So anyway, the game on Thursday was just a normal game- Brodie was in his stroller screaming.  Finally, the umpire CALLED THE GAME and told my coach that Brodie needs to shut up and leave.  Kristin (being the crazy one that she is) screams "YOU MOTHERFUCKER!!"  And girls on our team are litterally holding her back because she's going to kill the guy.  Then, one of the girls on the team says to me (so Kristin can't hear) "I work in child services and this is child abuse.  I'm not doing my job because I haven't turned her in."  Yikes!  He facebook statuses have been really weird since the incident.  The other day it said something like "Brodie is grounded."  How do you ground a baby?  Now it says something like she "doesn't care that people judge her for her parenting skills, only He can judge her."  She's really crazy and tries to play the "I love Jesus" card so that people think it's okay.

A MamaC Weekend!

These are pictures of Molly Girl waiting for her grandparents to arrive.  I put the bandana on her so she'd be extra cute!!

My mom and David arrived on Friday afternoon.  They brought my twin bed and some boxes of crap that I had at their house.  I'm pretty excited about the bed.  I think it's going to be my nap time bed.

On Saturday, I had to work for a few hours, and while I was gone, they planted flowers in the flower boxes on the outside of our house.  They look pretty cute and happy.  Also, they bought some Miracle Gro, so I gave it to my vegetables.  Hopefully they will grow huge and delicious.  In the evening, Greg's parents came up so we could all go out to dinner.  Greg and I were prepared for the most awkward night of our lives.  You know how my parents are, and Greg's are pretty much the exact opposite.  They seem pretty quiet and mundane, until you get to know them.  I thought my mom and David would be trying too hard to keep the conversation going and end up annoying everyone.  However, the exact opposite happened and I'm pretty sure they're best friends now.  Here's how it went down:
Greg's parents show up in Greg's dad's 1970-something Pontiac GTO.  Greg and I are both like "Oh, no.  Seriously?!!"  Because 1.  it's super loud and 2.  It's a little embarrassing.  However, my mom and David are like "AWESOME CAR!!"  So, there's 6 of us and we're going to a Japanese Steakhouse for dinner.  The most people any of our cars can fit is 4 people.  We're awkwardly trying to figure out the seating arrangements and finally my mom and David are like "We want to ride in the Pontiac!!"  So, Greg and I ended up riding in my car while our parents rode in his parents car.  Pretty much the whole ride to the restaurant we're like "What are they talking about?  This is so weird!!"
We get to the restaurant and everyone gets out of the car laughing and saying how awesome it is!  Greg and I are in shock.  We sit at our table and you know, it's the usual Japanese Steakhouse stuff.  And then my mom randomly says "Isn't this a great birthday, Kendra?!"  The chef hears and thinks it's my birthday for the rest of the night.  I get all the special treatment, like he tries to throw extra pieces of food in my mouth!  The most hilarious part is at the end of the night, he brings me an ice cream sundae!  The sundae was a little weird.  It had fruit loops on it.  But they sang to me, so it was fun...I guess.
We came back to the house and played cards for a few hours and took part in some friendly banter.  When Greg's parents left, my mom exclaims "I LOVE THEM!!"  I was quite surprised to hear this, but still happy.  Later, I asked my mom how long they were in the car before she brought up me and Greg getting married.  She said not very long.  At first I was embarrassed by this because his parents seem like they're closed off and don't really think about those kinds of things.  But she said that they're wondering the same thing.  Greg's dad apparently thinks he's  a fool for taking so long (which made me so happy to hear).  The mutual consensus was that Greg is waiting for Jen to get married so he doesn't steal her thunder.  It got me pretty excited to hear that his parents would like us to get married.

On Sunday, my mom, David and I did some hiking and then some shopping.  We went to EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports [my favorite store ever!]) and I got a sweet-ass portable, bendable tripod for my camera!  I can bring it hiking with me and wrap it around a tree branch, or something.  It's so cool!!

210265299_<span class=           210179950_200_v1_m56577569830516981.<span class=

This is a picture of it.  However, mine is black and pink.  I also bought an awesome hammock!!  My front yard has two trees perfectly placed for a hammock.  At EMS,  I found one that has a mosquito net with it, so it's pretty much the best thing ever!!  I haven't set it up yet because the motherfucker didn't come with rope, but maybe tomorrow I'll have to make a trip to get some.  I'm probably going to take naps in it all summer.

On Sunday evening, my mom put me though mashed potato boot camp!  My mashed potatoes are nowhere near as delicious as hers, so I made sure that I knew the technique before she left.  Apparently the secret is to use beaters and not a masher.  We had a delicious dinner with a delicious strawberry shortcake-type dessert.

The parentals left today, so it was back to normal life.  I seriously can't wait until  this school year is over.  I think I have 5 sick days left and I'm probably going to have to use them.  I've about had it with these high school bitches.  After work, we took Molly on her first walk.  I wish I had brought my camera, but I forgot it.  She was really precious with her tiny collar and leash.  We didn't go too far, but she did really well keeping up!  I think she really loved it.  She's been sleeping ever since we got home.  Hopefully this will make her sleep past 4:30am.  If so, it's going to be an everyday routine.

Well, we're watching the movie 21 and Greg is bitchy because I "haven't looked up once!!"  Good day!

A preview.

Rachel-I mailed your bday package yesterday.  This may or may not be a preview as to what's coming...

You spin my head right round.

I called out sick today from school so that I can make my house look presentable for when my mom gets here.  Apparently she's not getting here until tomorrow, late morning-ish.  Part of me thinks she's trying to surprise me and she'll be here today.  If you have been following the countdown on my facebook, you'll see that it's a countdown to today, but when I talk to her on the phone she's like "well, we're going to take our time driving up there, so we probably won't get there until Friday."  But anyway, my calling in sick couldn't have come at a better time.  We're at the end of the school year and so everyone has a ton of work to do, and these lazy bastards wait until the day it's due to start it, and some teachers actually expect me to LITERALLY do it for them.  Not happening.  One of my students is 18, but she seriously has the mentality of an 11 year old.  She's more immature than the girls on my basketball team.  To top it off, she's bipolar.  I'm pretty sure yesterday was the beginning of her downward spiral because she was being a fuckin' bitch to me!  I get the last laugh in the end though because she has a ton of make-up work to do for chemistry, due on Friday, and she was too much of a bitch to accept my help yesterday so she's going to be stuck with all that work and no one to help her.  MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

So far I've had two softball games this week, and today is my third.  Monday was a really good game for me because I caught two pop flies in the outfield and I got a pretty good hit with an RBI!  On Tuesday, I got a hit and my fielding was okay, but not as good as Monday.  One of the girls on my team is letting me use her brand new bat because it's too heavy for her.  Well, my coach told me that my batting hasn't been as good as it normally is because the bat I'm using isn't "broken in yet."  Who knew you had to break in a piece of metal?!  On Tuesday, I played right field (which I HATE!  I'm a left center kind of girl) and my (kind of crazy) friend from school who got me on the team, Kristin, was playing right center.  Well, a ball was hit to ME and Kristin was supposed to be my back-up.  Well, we both started running to get the ball, and it actually blew past both of us.  Because it was directly behind me, I ran to go get it.  Kristin, thinking she's all that and a bag of chips runs after it as well, except she PUSHES me out of the way and screams "I'M GETTING IT!!!!!!!"  So, I'm fucking pissed off.  I literally stop in my tracks and purposefully stand in her way so she has to throw it around me to get the ball in.  Once the play is over she says "Sorry, I just knew I could get to it and throw it in quickly."  I say "Do you honestly think you're faster than me?  And did you seriously have to push me?"  (BTW, there's no way she's faster than me.  She's about 5'2" and her entire leg is about as long as my shin.  And she's not the most physically fit person I've ever seen).    So, the story ends with her not even realizing she pushed me and me being totally pissed off.

So, today I have a lot of cleaning to do.  I'm also mailing Rachel's birthday present!  Finally!  Molly can sit on command.  Also, Molly just stood in front of the closet door and cried so I asked her if she had to go outside and she barked at me.  When I let her out she went poops!!!  SHE IS A PUPPY PRODIGY!!  She's going to the vet today for all her puppy shots.  It should be interesting.

These pictures are me and the girls taking a nap on the couch (this is mostly for Rachel), a giant snapping turtle I saw crossing the street, and Molly spooning her toys as she sleeps.

There's nothing to watch on Sundays.

This is where I worked today.  The beach store.  It's even more boring than the toll booth.  I got a lot of reading done though.  But the problem with that is I read for about 8 hours today and so now my brain is consumed with my book and it kind of feels like my reality.  If that makes sense.

I have included a picture of one of our "beaches," so you can look at them and laugh at these crazy yankees.  Also, this is a happy goose family that lives at the beach.  They have four tiny chicks who are so cute!

Yesterday I got all excited because I thought Rachel was getting a new phone tomorrow, but unfortunately I was mistaken.  June 12th is going to take forever to get here.

When I got home from work today, Greg and Molly were waiting for me on the porch and Molly did a little happy dance when she saw me!  It was so cute!  I was surprised she actually recognized me!

Boom boom POW!

Well, today I spent my day working at the toll booth (see picture).  It's not the most entertaining of places, but I got to read and listen to some tunes, so it wasn't too bad.  Also, I got to call 9-11 today!!  Right to the left of the toll booth is a parking lot for our beach (it's actually a pond that is filled with freezing water year round, but some crazy people actually think it's a beach!).  One of our park guests was a rather obese, older woman.  Apparently, she sat in a beach chair and at the end of the day, she couldn't get up.  She had shortness of breath and hot flashes, and shaking.  So, they asked us to call 9-11.  Man, those poor EMTs.  Once you're in the parking lot, it's about 200 yards downhill to the beach, so those guys had to carry her quite a ways.  All in all, it was a little nerve-wracking, but kind of exciting.  I've never called 9-11 before, so I can cross that off my bucket list...just kidding!

Tomorrow, Molly turns 8 weeks.  She'll officially be a legal puppy!  Oh, Peanut has taken to humping Molly ALL THE TIME!  I'm pretty sure she's just trying to show her dominance while Molly's still small and she still can.  It's pretty much the nastiest thing I've ever seen: she thrusts nice and slow and passionately.  AAAAAHHHH!!  I can't talk about it.  I've lost a little bit of respect for Peanut.

Rain rain go away.

Today I just finished the book "The Tenth Circle" by Jodi Picoult.  It was kind of awesome and I ignored all of my students today just so I could read it.  The girls I work with are obsessed with this author and they game me a list of her books to read.  The first one I read was "My Sister's Keeper," which was good, but I didn't LOVE.  "My Sister's Keeper" is going to be a movie this summer, so I think we're going to have a nerdy book club/movie date.  I've been thinking about the book all day, so I apologize for opening my blog with this.

Do you ever go though phases where you hate every item of clothing you own?  Well, I'm going through that right now.  I don't hate my everyday clothes, but my work clothes, I despise!  Part of it may be the fact that I have no motivation to go to work, so my attitude is expressed via my wardrobe.  I'm kind of hoping that my mom might want to take me shopping while she's here.

Greg and I went grocery shopping.  This is something else I despise.  I spend a lot of my time in the store trying to keep Greg focused and moving because he likes to meander and look at things.  Also, we never make a list.  We could have absolutely no food in the house and we'll go shopping and come home with OJ, bread, 6 boxes of cereal, ice cream and tomatoes.  I really wish we'd take the time to plan out meals or make a list.

I went for a run when we got home from the store and I don't think I waited long enough to for my food to digest because there was a point when I was positive that I was going to barf.  Thankfully, I didn't, but now I feel a little bit pukey.

We were supposed to have two games this week, but both were rained out.  Frankly, I was quite thankful.  First off, I have been wicked exhausted this week.  Secondly, I didn't feel like being mercy ruled twice in one week when I was so tired.  It's embarrassing.  I put "wicked" in green because I know you will have your comments about it.

Well, I feel like this blog is making me sound like a crazy person.

Green thumb?

Well, I am exhausted.  I did the math and I'm pretty sure I worked 52 hours Friday-Monday.  Yikes!  Thankfully we didn't have too much drama, we were just short-handed so I had to fill in a lot.  Also, I don't know if you guys saw my facebook yesterday, but it said that I was going to get wasted after work yesterday.  Well, I'm all talk.  I pump myself up all day and convince myself that I will get wasted, but when the time actually comes, I have one drink and it's like "meh, I'm good."  I just don't feel it anymore.

My friend Melissa has been promising me for weeks that today is the day she'd come over and help me plant my plants.  Well, guess who was "home sick due to a reaction to black fly bites"?!!  Yeah.  Bitch.  She offered to come over later this week, but I'm pretty freakin' sick of luggin' those damn plants in and out of the house.  So, I put them in the ground today and I hope they survive.  Molly helped me though, she was digging holes in the garden and every time I got a plant in the ground, she came over and tried to eat it.  It was good times.

My mom and David is coming to visit next Thusday.  I'm pretty excited for them to meet Molly and to see our new house.  I think they're bringing up my bed from my mom's house, so I'm pretty excited about that as well.

We're supposed to have rainy weather for the rest of the week and I'm not too happy about it.  i can't wait until it's hot and sunny everyday!

No title.

I decided to change my colors because it was a little bit boring.

I'm pretty sure Molly has grown since I saw her this morning.  She seriously looks taller.

I feel like my house is infested with mosquitoes.

Rachel, apparently the kids that are obsessed with Twilight also read  "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer.  I think it's about alien, but I think it's kind of the same idea.  Actually, I don't really know, but they do like that book, too.

Well, I hope you girls enjoy your long weekend!

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Them chickens jackin' my style.

Well, tomorrow the park opens.  Greg says I'm probably going to have to work 40+ hours this weekend.  So, it should be good times.  We had and early release at school today and it was pretty sweet.  It was about 90 degrees, so I came home and played with the girls and then rode my bike up to the campground.  I got the candy delivery today, it was very tempting not to buy some skittles.

So, I know I've said it a million times, but I've been putting my plants outside during the day and bringing them back in at night.  Well, they're getting pretty tall and every time I get home from school they're always laying on their sides, knocked over and wilted.  Melissa is coming over on Tuesday to help me plant everything, but I don't know if I can wait until them to plant them.  They're kind of a pain in the ass.

You know my green Nike shorts that I wear to bed and pretty much at all times?  Well, I'm wearing them now and I'm thinking that they're so old that the elastic is busted, or something.  I haven't worn them all winter and they're freakin' HUGE!  Totally stretched out!  And no, Rachel, I'm not emaciated.

Apparently a teacher got fired last week.  She had just gotten back from a Florida vacation and was showing her class a slideshow of pictures, when all of the sudden, A NAKED PICTURE OF HERSELF POPPED UP!!  Apparently she took it to send to her husband and "thought it was deleted."  So, she's fired.  If something like that happened to me, (well, it never would because I wouldn't take naked pictures of myself) they wouldn't have to fire me because I would quit on the spot and move out of the state.

Well, I think that is all I have to say.  Hopefully I will be more exciting and perhaps have some pictures for next time.  Good day!

Mercy Ruled Again

Yes, the title is true.  Apparently the mercy rule only goes into effect after the 5th inning, which is for the best because we totally would have lost it in the 1st.  The first pitch, the ball was hit and one of the girls on my team got hit in the face!  I was the EH (extra hitter), so I had to go in for her, for two innings.  I was in the outfield and I had to freakin' stand at the fence for the ball not to blow right by me.  This team was good!  I didn't make any amazing saves and I was up to bat once and got out with an infield fly.  I really think my team sucks.  Granted, I'm not one to talk because I don't get to play much, but damn.  They fall all over the place and can't catch to save their lives.  I used to think I was hott shit in practice, but no not so much.    This is a picture of my team.  I'm riding the pine pony so I'm not in it.

School was kind of lame today.  Prom is in two weeks and it's all anyone is talking about, and I'm a little sick of it.  I don't really give a shit what color your dress is, or what your shoes look like, you know?  And when a lot of these girls describe their dresses to me, I think "OH wow, that's not going to look cute on you at all!"  Also, my friend Amanda that I work with got engaged this weekend.  Her ring is beautiful and I'm a little jealous.  She's been with her bf for 7 years and she had gotten to the point where she was waiting for common law to kick in.  But they went to Bar Harbor, MA this weekend and he proposed on top of a mountain at sunset.  How nice.  I told Greg and he didn't really think twice about it.

Rachel, remember that commercial  for Dell, or something?  That dog was running on the beach and the guy was crying?  Man, that was hilarious!  I should look that up on youtube, or something!

PS.  Why is it that as soon as I think "Man, I should take Molly out soon," she pees?

I'm tired.

Well, I survived my first weekend at the park.

Yesterday, I spent the whole day unpacking a lot of boxes and making the store look nice( see the before and after pictures). Everything was so dusty and nasty, I'm pretty  sure I sneezed about 50 times.  Today I spent the day putting prices on everything, I was pretty much buried in price tags.  I also took a picture of this, but it's not as exciting as I hoped it would be.

After work yesterday, Greg's parents showed up for about 15 minutes.  They were on their way home from Maine and Greg's mom wanted to plant some flowers for Jen's wedding.  Jen is having her first wedding (she's getting married in the US and in England) here at Bear Brook in one of the pavilions, so Greg's mom is all about using my garden to plant her wedding flowers.  I'm actually fine with this because my garden will be beautiful without me having to do any work.  They also got to meet their granddaughter, Molly.  They're not really dog people so they definitely weren't into the whole thing where Molly chews on everything all the time.  But they said she has pretty eyes, so I'm fine with that.

Once Greg's parents left, we headed over to our friends Tara and Russ's house.  I'm pretty sure I've told you about Tara.  She is a park manager at a park that's about 20 minutes from us.  She is the manliest woman I've ever met.  She spends her free time cutting down trees and picking food out of her teeth with her knife.  During the summer that Greg and I fell in love, Tara was a little bit obsessed with Greg and she would call him all the time and show up at his house and never freakin' leave.    Greg's too nice to say "Tara, I want to hang out with Kendra, get the fuck out of my house!!"  So, I spent a lot of my time silently hating Tara and Greg.    But anyway, I guess she eventually accepted the fact that Greg loves me and not her, and she eventually got a "boyfriend," too.  I have this in quotes because a little part of me thinks that she's trying to make him jealous.  So, we're "friends" now and we hang out sometimes.  I'm still not a huge fan of her because she calls way more than she should, carries on the conversation way longer than needed, and every time I am around her and Greg, they talk about park stuff and I hate every second of it.  As I was saying!  We went to their house last night and ate some delicious steak and talked about park crap.  I pulled a Rachel because I kept stressing the fact that we had to get home to let Molly out.  It actually worked pretty well!  We got home around 10 and I was really effin' tired.  To top it off, little Molly decided to wake up at 4:45 this morning and not go back to sleep.  It was good times.

I have a softball game tomorrow.  Hopefully we won't be mercy ruled again.  Thursday we have early release and no school on Friday!!  Yay!  Apparently there's only 24 or so days left of school and I'm totally stoked.

Well, good day!
