Everybody loves Greg. =(

Well, Molly had her first vet visit today!  We brought Peanut along so Peanut could see that the vet isn't always scary.  And she was a jealous girl that wanted to come along.  But anyway, Peanut was more of a baby than Molly was.  She cried on my lap and was panting and ridiculous.    So, Molly weighs 5.2 pounds.  She's too young to get any vaccines, but the vet said she looks very healthy and her heart sounds good and she's so pretty!  She also gave us a "puppy kit" with some free food and a book with tips on raising a puppy, she also gave us our first doses of Heatgard and Frontline free!  So, we're well on our way to having a happy, healthy puppy!

Oh, why did you say that 9 weeks old is when puppies get scared...or whatever it was you said?  Can you give examples?

Well Rachel, I'm confused about what to do with my job.  I've applied to about 10 teaching positions and so far about 4 or 5 of them have been filled without giving me an interview.  The science teacher job that I applied to at the school I currently work at (Pembroke Academy), will not be filled due to budget cuts.  So that's a bummer.  I know I was so adamant about quitting my current job, which I still hate a lot, but now I'm wondering if I should continue working there just for the benefits.  I wish knowing what I want to do with my life was easier.  Damn!  However, I did apply to a job at Southern New Hampshire University.  I think it's some sort of receptionist position that gives information to prospective students.  I actually REALLY want this job because I will be able to take classes FOR FREE!!  How sweet would that be?!  I would take so many classes they would be losing money!

As far as dates when you guys should come here, I would say anytime in July except for the 4th.  Have you talked to Katie and Monica about whether you would come on a weekend, or during the week?  My days off from the park will be Thursday and Friday, so you should definitely include those days.  I would say you should be here for at least 3 or 4 days.  We could do some hiking, maybe go to Boston...that's about all there is to do around here.  Ha.  I don't know, we'll think of something!

  1. I have never loved a picture as much as I love these. HILARIOUS. I just got back from hanging out with Katie, Monica, and Derek. It was fun and Derek is looking sexy (damn him). Yeah, from what I remember reading at nine weeks old, puppies are the most impressionable, so like you don't want to have a bad car ride during that time or they will hate the car forever. This also applies to storms, you don't want the puppy to be exposed to a storm and have a bad reaction or they will always have a problem. I'm not sure how much truth there is to this, but I remember reading it.

I'm glad to hear that the vet visit went well. It's good for Molly to not be poked and prodded on her first visit as well. But... you should know, that it is standard for vets to give free heartgard and frontline. It's a selling point, you see, you'll probably purchase more of those same products later. Tricky, tricky.

Now about your job. I think the receptionist job sounds like a good transitioning job. So basically, you can work there, take some glasses, get your masters, and do whatever you what, whenever you want. Oh... and it's free. That sounds pretty freaking awesome. Although I can totally imagine you getting sassy on the phone.

I am going to consult with Katie and Monica and choose some days, what do you think about getting there Wednesday afternoon, staying thursday, friday, and leaving saturday late afternoon? Is that enough time? I'm soooo excited about seeing you! Ohhh and if I visit, can we please go to Boston and meet up with my coworker, Lisa. I know the trip is all about some Kendrizzle, but she is awesome and you'd love her. Just an idea.

And lastly, I mentioned to Katie that we have blogs and she is going to join the blog club. How exciting. I'm not sure if Monica is, but we'll see.

  2. We already give Peanut Heartgard and Frontline, so I was fine with some free shit.
And yes, we can definitely visit your friend in Boston. It'll be interesting to meet a friend of Rachel's.
