Last night was 100 times better than the first night with the puppy. She's been sleeping in a little box, so we put that in the crate and she slept pretty well. Sometimes I have to hold her until she falls asleep and then just drop her in the box, or else she'll just cry forever. We brought her to the softball game today. She was quite the hit. And I'm sick of everyone asking "How old is she?' "Five weeks." "FIVE WEEKS?!! Isn't that illegal?!! That's too young!!" Yeah yeah. Everyone seems to know this. But what am I supposed to do? Return her and say "Can you hang on to her and we'll take her back in a few weeks?" No. The "breeders" will just sell her for more money to someone else. So I guess it's best that she's with us. She has an appointment at the vet on Tuesday. Everyone keeps telling me to tell the vet about the breeders and turn them in. I don't know if I'm going to do that though. I got what I wanted: a precious female black lab at an affordable price. The breeders were nice enough, I just think that they couldn't afford to feed 10 puppies regular food, so they had to get rid of them.
I have no pictures for this post. I'm already not sticking to my goal of a picture for every post. Oh, and the three picture on the first post look a little embarrassing. But it was my first post, what can you expect?!
You should know that I wrote a long comment but then couldn't post it. So this version will be much shorter.
ReplyDeleteFirst. It didn't sound like you did too horribly on your softball game. Hopefully tonight you will get more action and make an awesome play in the outfield.
Secondly. I am so happy you named the puppy, Molly. That is such a great name and makes her even cuter. About the whole five weeks thing. It's not a big deal. The most important thing is that she can eat dry food, which she can. So technically she is good to go. The only thing you have to a little different than if you got an 8 week old puppy is discipline her a little more. And remember, at the nine week mark, they are the most impressionable and therefore, can develop a lot of fears, so you want to make that week as painless as possible.
Thirdly. It's Allie's birthday today. She is turning four. I am so sad, I don't have a puppy anymore. And I am super jealous of your puppy. She looks like Allie did as a puppy, but without the white chin.
Okay, that's enough for now. Good luck on your game and I'll talk to you later.
